Color Me Mine!

A couple of weeks ago Launey and I went on a group date with Kylee, Conner, Karson, and Linzey. We went to a place in Provo called Color Me Mine where you get to pick a ceramic item and paint it. After it is painted, they fire it and in the end you have a beautiful piece of pottery. I painted an ice cream bowl, Launey opted for a butter dish (I don't know why either), and everybody else painted mugs. It was a great time and although it may not sound like the most masculine thing in the world, all of the guys ended up having a great time even though there was originally a lot of protesting. I am really glad that both of my siblings have good taste in their significant others we really had a great time together.

Easter Weekend

This weekend was quite eventful as I am sure it was for most people. Saturday we had a great time with my family at the Salem Park. We packed a picnic, fed the ducks, and colored Easter eggs. We then went to Horton Hears a Who, and finished the night off with an Easter egg hunt at my parents' house, a little Rock Band and fondue. On Easter the boys got new bikes and Brielle got an Easter dress. We went to Grandma Red's for another egg hunt, then up to Launey's parents' house for dinner. It was a good weekend. Now the only problem is I am stuck with a bag of mini eggs and an intense craving for chocolate!

Family Escape

Well, as you can probably tell from my previous post, I have been a little stir crazy. Launey and I had a gift certificate for a free night at a place called Zermatt in Midway. On a whim we decided that we would take the kids and go spend the night for a little change of pace. We ate at one of our favorite places in Park City called Bandits Bar and Grill. It used to be Texas Reds. Luke really got into the cowboy theme. Then we just went to the hotel and the boys played with their Lightning McQueen race track and we went swimming. It was Brielle's first time swimming and she actually loved it! She looked so cute in her tiny little swimming suit. It was a great time and a nice change of pace. However, I could still use a small break without my little darlings, so if anybody has any great getaways planned, let me know I'm so there!

Looks Like We Made It!

This weekend Launey, my parents, my grandparents, and my aunt and uncle all went to Vegas/Mesquite for the MWC basketball tournament, and yes only my kids and myself were left at home. It is sad to say, but I haven't spent a night at home on my own in a number of years and I was quite nervous about it. I had also never been left alone with all three kids for that long. I usually at least have my parents or grandparents to help me entertain them for a moment, but this time I have been completely on my own. I am posting a few pictures of the things we did to entertain ourselves.

Day One, early morning. Things went on as usual, Ellie was fussing, Tanner was eating, and Luke was drawing.
Day One, early afternoon. We started one of our two big weekend projects, we decorated an Easter Ginger Bread House.

Day One, late afternoon. We started our second big weekend project. We made homemade oreos. Luke and Tanner had more fun eating them than making them, and poor Ellie just had to sit in her bouncer and watch, but it was a good time.

Perhaps by now you have noticed a problem, by late afternoon on day one we had finished both of our only big projects for the weekend. Needless to say, Day two was much more boring, and we really had to reach for fun activities. Poor Tanner got the brunt of it.

Day Two, early afternoon. This is Tanner in Ellie's baby bath. The washcloth is for privacy purposes.

Day Two, early evening. This is Tanner with a charming new look.

All-in-all I think we survived it pretty well. Launey is on his way home, hopefully, and by this afternoon I should be resting peacefully while Launey makes up for lost time with his children. As long as I survive church being out-numbered 3 to 1!

Strike a Pose

I took Brielle to JC Penny to get her pictures taken in her blessing dress on the 4th of March. Like most picture taking excursions usually are, it was STRESSFUL! She was crying and upset the entire time. A few of them turned out pretty good, but we didn't get a single one with her cute smile. That was disappointing. I guess in the back of my mind I knew that would be the case, that is why we went to JC Penny and spent only 3.99 a sheet. When she gets a little older and I shed a bit more of this baby weight I think we will have Ami Steele take some pictures for us.

The boys have been enjoying this warmer weather. We have been going for walks everyday since it has heated up. They love the walks, but they are most excited about being able to drive their power wheels outside. They got them for Christmas and they have been waiting since then to be able to drive them outside. Tanner doesn't quite get the steering aspect yet. He just pushes the pedal and sits back without laying a finger on the wheel. It is a hoot to watch.

She's on a "Roll"

Yesterday was Ellie's two month birthday, and she surprised everybody with a new trick. She can now roll from her belly to her back. If you scroll down towards the bottom of the page, I have a video clip of her rolling. I just can't believe how fast time flies. It seems like I was just pregnant with her and now she is rolling over!

Luke and Tanner are still up to their usual car racing and penguin hunting activities. I am posting a picture of them in their cowboy clothes getting ready to go on a penguin hunt. I love Tanner's hat, he looks really intimidating. I am also posting a picture of Tanner patiently waiting for the garbage truck to come and dump our garbage. I guess things just aren't very eventful for him when Luke is in preschool.
Yesterday Launey got to do something kind of fun, a trainer at Gold's Gym asked Launey to be in a workout video. I guess that is what you can expect when you have bulging muscles and boyish good looks! That's my man!

Brielle's Special Day

Yesterday we had the opportunity to have Brielle blessed, Launey gave her a beautiful blessing and a name. My entire family was there and many of Launey's family members were there also. We also got to hear the testimonies of many of our family members. It was really a special day. It was so awesome to see how much support and love we have and that little Ellie already has as well. She looked absolutely beautiful in her long white dress. She didn't stay in it for long because I didn't want any disasters to occur in it, but I will be taking more pictures of her in her blessing dress so check back for those.

After the blessing, Launey's brother let us use his pizza place to host a dinner. We had soups, salads, Grandma Red's famous rolls, and a great deal of deliciously fattening desserts. I hope everybody knows how thankful I am to them for bringing food and helping me out with the occasion.

It was a great day and I truly do feel blessed to have had the opportunity to bless our sweet baby girl. I also feel so blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful and supportive friends and family.
